These Four Asanas are the Quintessence: Simhasana & Bhadrasana | Hatha Yoga Pradipika 1.50-54

Chapter I


I.50 Simhasana - Place the ankles on either side of the perineum, crossed.

51 Concentrate the mind while placing the hands on the knees, spreading the fingers, opening the mouth with tongue extend, gazing at the tip of the nose.

52 Simhasana is held in high esteem by the ancient yogis because it facilitates the three bandhas.


53 Bhadrasana - Place the ankles below the sex organ, with the feet under the perineum, left on the left, right on the right.

54 Hold the sides of the feet. Bhadrasana, also known as gorakasana by the siddhis, destroys all diseases.
