Sevenoaks is a spiritual education and retreat center dedicated to providing a safe, beautiful and tranquil haven for individuals seeking to awaken to a deeper experience of body, mind, heart and spirit. It is a place to connect profoundly with the natural world and with other like-minded people who are committed to authenticity, exploration, transformation and self-revelation.
Sevenoaks has practiced green standards for decades. We purchase locally produced food products and supplies, grow and maintain organic gardens, help to protect and enhance the wildlife on Sevenoaks property by using natural products on our grounds and in our buildings and we help educate our guests about our eco friendly processes.
Named in honor of the seven majestic 300-year old oak trees that crowned a ridge with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sevenoaks Retreat Center was founded by Donovan and Susan Thesenga in 1972. It was a working farm nestled on the banks of the Rapidan River for many years.
