Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is one of the most popular sacred mantras in the world, coming from the Hindu tradition. The mantra is only 12 syllables, translating to "I bow to the Ultimate Reality, Vasudevaya (one of the names of Lord Krishna)" and its simplicity is part of what makes it so powerful.

Vasudevaya can directly be translated as the son of Vasuda, and refers to Krishna, one of the avatars of Vishnu. Krishna only descends down to earth during times of trouble, when humanity is in need of reminders of love, peace, forgiveness, and higher consciousness. In Hindu tradition, Krishna has come to earth multiple times throughout history.

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya has been known to be a very powerful mantra. One may feel a profound sense of peace and calming of the energy after repeating and hearing this mantra. This mantra can be beneficial to help the practitioner to surrender to God, come to peace with one's life, life purpose, and responsibilities, and find faith that all is well. It has been said that Lord Krishna will be within the heart and consciousness of anyone who earnestly chants this mantra and asks for his divine presence and guidance. With devoted recitation regularly, or even daily, it has been said it can even help the practitioner to achieve moksha or liberation.
